Application Directions

• Students will be required to complete the online internship application, which is located at the following link: https://education.gmu.edu/teacher-track-office/student-internship

• It is highly recommended that you make an appointment with Dr. Carrie Ann Delaney (cdelane2@gmu.edu) and have a degree audit conducted.  She will serve as your contact person through the application process.

Can our students choose their own placements?

• Not officially. School district divisions assign placements.  Although, students can submit a preference (this is why it is important to develop strong relationships during your field experiences).

• If you have a student teaching preference (elementary and/or secondary), please provide this information to your teaching methods instructor.

These are the materials needed to complete your student teaching application. 

• VCLA Scores​

• Praxis II Subject Assessment – Music Content Knowledge

• Negative TB skin test (due dates vary by district)

• Students are also required complete other testing requirements, which may include (a) Dyslexia Training, Child Abuse Recognition and Intervention Training, and (c) First Aid/CPR/AED Training.  Please refer to the following link for additional information: https://education.gmu.edu/teacher-track-office/student-internship
